Enviro Club

We value the Planet by contributing to Earth’s well-being. Our goal is to ensure that all students at Maraetai Beach School are environmentally aware and "Enviro" responsible citizens.

At present, we have a School Care Code which was formulated in collaboration with our students and classroom teachers.

The Maraetai Beach student Enviro Group meet every Thursday during lunch times. The students are involved in all areas of caring for the school environment. This includes caring for our classroom gardens, making sure the native tree area is looked and ensuring that the school's orchard is taken care of.  Over the last year, we received funding to update our old worm bins to the Hungry Worm Bins, which recycle all classroom fruit waste. The plan is for the worm tea to be sold at our Enviro markets that we have on some Fridays from around 2:50 pm until 3:00 pm. We have received our Bronze Graduation and MBS is now part of Enviro Schools. The plan for 2020 is to receive our Silver Graduation award.
